1. Plate Making
Plate making is crucial, as it directly impacts the integrity of the product, and current technology has greatly improved. Most manufacturers use digital machines to create plates. Printing, retouching, and retouching are generally required. Gift boxes require a fresh, bright appearance, so the layout and color of the packaging box are diverse. Typically, a single gift box style comes in not only the four basic colors, but also several specialty colors, such as gold and silver.
2. Paper Selection
Typically, gift boxes are made from 300g to 400g copper-coated paper or gold and silver cardboard. Specialty paper can also be used for special requirements. The interior of the gift box is made of colored paper or special paper enclosed in a gray cardboard exterior. Colored paper is made from double-coated and matte copper paper. Commonly used 80g, 105g, 128g, and 157g are some options. Colored paper for the outer box rarely exceeds 200g. Thick colored paper can easily bubble up when placed on the gift box, resulting in a dull appearance. Of course, this depends on the product. Design the outer packaging based on the product, then select the paper and craftsmanship.
3. Printing Process
Gift boxes are often printed on paper, and the gift box serves as the outer packaging. The printing process is meticulous, and color variations, ink spots, and board damage are crucial, as these can affect the aesthetics.
4. Surface Treatment of Colored Paper
The colored paper on the gift box's surface must be treated. Common treatments include gloss lamination, matte lamination, UV treatment, varnish, matte varnish, and hot stamping.
5. Beading
Beading is a crucial step in the printing process. Beading must be accurate to avoid impacting subsequent work. The key is die cutting. This step is also crucial, as misalignment with your design can significantly impact the final product. Therefore, it's best to have the printed product aligned with the die cutter.
6. Gluing the Finished Product
Unfold the finished colored box and glue the finished product together using a high-speed box gluer with environmentally friendly glue.
7. Packaging and Delivery
Product packaging can be made in three- or five-layer corrugated cardboard boxes. For long-distance transport, a layer of woven tape can be used to prevent the box from breaking and damaging the product during transportation.
